Coating Process for Color Coated Aluminium Sheet
To solve problems of color difference and color matching difficulty, many color coated aluminium sheet manufacturersare trying a simper solution: surface coating of paintings. After demoulding of plates with color pastes, the plate is further coated with a layer of colored painting on the surface. The exterior painting layer covers any part with possible problems of color difference. This kind of special painting gets dry within minutes after being coated, and there’s little color change after it gets dry. Therefore, it’s relatively easy to mix desired colors. Some manufacturers even leave out the process of color paste painting. They just pack base plates together and then coat them with paintings of required colors before delivery. This actually saves trouble, flooring space as well as cost!
Experiments show that the first kind of coating can not withstand 25 freeing and thawing cycle tests. The painting peels off after five or six times of tests, leaving the paste layer with patched colors. The second kind of coating, however, withstand 25 tests surprisingly. The reason lies in the fact that the painting gets stuck to the surface of the sheet more firmly. While being used as roofing sheets, the color coated aluminium sheet is exposed to sunshine, rain and strong winds. Specially treated color coated aluminium lasts around thirty years. In comparison with concrete or earthen piles, color coated aluminium sheet has lighter weight, stronger corrosion resistance and longer service life. Of course, it’s more expensive as well.
