General Introduction to the Aluminum Metal Ceiling tile

An aluminum metal ceiling tile is obtained by decoiling aluminium alloy rolls, cutting flattened rolls into pieces of desired sizes and compression moulding forming of the pieces. The surface of the aluminum metal ceiling tile is covered with coatings.

Generally there are two types of aluminum ceiling tiles: tiles for home decoration and tiles for engineering decoration. The former was mainly divided into two types by surface treatment methods at the very beginning: roller coating and frosting. Later various processing methods were adopted, including heat transfer printing, glazing, ink printing, mirroring and 3D, which make aluminum ceiling tiles more and more popular in home decoration. If we say that aluminum metal ceiling tiles have won popularity in me decoration by rich surface design, then they have entered project decoration market totally by long service life. Here they are usually coated with pure light color like milk. Users put coating quality at the top priority in purchasing, because only durable tiles are really cost efficient in the long run.
The ceiling industry has gone through three periods in the past years. The first generation of ceiling tiles were made of plaster or mineral fiber, the second generation PVC and the third HUV metal, among which the aluminum metal ceiling tile beat all its competitors and predecessors, becoming the most popular one. At present there are three types of aluminum ceiling tiles in the market. They are respectively made of Al-Mg alloy, Al-Mn alloy and common alloy. Al-Mg alloy is also known as 5000 series of aluminum alloy, represented by 5005, 5052 and 5083. The adding of Mg greatly improves the alloy anti-oxidizing property and hardness. This is the best raw material for aluminum ceiling tiles. Al-Mn tiles have stronger hardness but weaker corrosion resistance. The last type, tiles of common alloys, contains little Mg and Mn, showing weakest abilities in resistance to deformation and oxidization.
