Manufacturing Process of Round Aluminum Discs

Round aluminum discs play an important role in our daily life. It serves as raw materials of aluminum pots, pans, kettles, lighting covers and parts etc. As known to all, the original material of aluminum sheets, coils and circles are aluminum ingots. Then how do aluminum ingots turn into round discs?

Generally speaking, manufacturing process of round aluminum discs includes melting, casting, annealing, rolling, flattening, cutting and packaging. Melting refers to that of aluminum ingots. The ingots are cleaned, placed into melting pots and heated until they become aluminum liquid. The liquid then travels through the pot outlet into a casting machine, during which it turns into aluminum coil of a certain size. Rolling includes hot rolling and cold rolling. Hot rolling refers to rolling process above the recrystallization temperature. Cold rolling is achieved on the basis of hot rolling. Hot rolled aluminum coils must go through acid pickling before being cold rolled. The mechanical properties of cold rolled aluminum coils are so bad that they have to be annealed. The purpose of annealing is to reduce hardness, improve workability, eliminate remaining mechanical stress and adjust physical structure of aluminum coils. Strictly speaking, real manufacturing process of round aluminum discs begins from annealed aluminum coils. The coils are first fed into a flattening machine. After being annealed, the coils do not crack or deform in the flattening process. Then they go through a leveler which guarantees their complete flatness. Flattened sheets are sent for cutting. Cutting machines of high precision can put raw materials into full use, leaving as little waste as possible. The distance among circle modules can be set extremely small. Finished round aluminum discs of given size are eventually delivered to automatic packing machine.
