Base Plate Quality of Aluminum Mirror Reflector Sheet

The quality of base plate of aluminum mirror reflector sheet falls on five types: Al-Mg alloy, Al-Mn alloy, regular aluminum alloy, common alloy and recycled alloy.

The main contents of Al-Mg aluminum alloy are aluminum, magnesium and a slight share of manganese. The plate has excellent anti-oxidization ability. The slight content of manganese endow the finished aluminum mirror reflector sheet with good strength, making it ideal raw materials for ceilings. Al-Mn aluminum alloy plates are a litter stronger but less corrosion resistant than Al-Mg alloy sheets, but their anti-corrosion property can be improved by protective treatment for both sides. Regular aluminum alloys contain less magnesium or manganese, thus their hardness is much lower than the first two types of alloys. Weaker hardness, however, make them more convenient to be processed. They can be made into aluminium ceilings as long as they reach a certain thickness, which compensate for the shortage of low strength. In spite of this, they get deformed more easily during delivery or installation. Further more, they have weaker anti-oxidization ability as well. Common aluminum alloys are featured by unstable mechanical properties. As the most inferior base sheet for aluminum mirror reflector sheets, recycled alloys are obtained by simple processing of aluminum ingots without any measures in element control. As a result, such sheets usually have extremely unstable properties, rugged surfaces, deformed shapes and high tendency for oxidization.
