Aluminum Circle Sheet Used for Cookware

It’s said that half of cookware in the world are made of aluminum circle sheet. On the other hand, stainless steel and iron take up only one third of cookware raw materials. The heat efficiency of aluminum cookware reaches 93%. The adoption of aluminum circle sheet greatly improves heat conductivity, electricity conductivity and thermal resistance of cookware, paving way to the cooking of delicious food.

The manufacturing process of cookware, mostly pots, consists of raw material feeding, deep drawing, edge cutting, bottom modifying and cleaning. Basic requirements about raw materials include good heat conductivity and stable chemical properties under high temperature. Aluminum circle sheets have a heat conductivity which is times of iron, do not get rusty and resist corrosion from many elements. Anodized aluminium sheets have better corrosion resistance, but it’s easy for pure aluminum to get oxidized, so other metals like magnesium and manganese are usually added to improve the sheets’ corrosion resistance. Aluminium circle blanks can be obtained by casting or stretching. Cast blanks, usually thicker than stretched ones, are suitable for heavy soup pots. Owing to the fact that tiny air bubbles come into being easily during the casting process, such pots have a lower heat conductivity than those made of stretched aluminum circle sheets. The deep drawing process is realized by the help of a pair of terrace and sinking dies.
