Features and usages of 5052 aluminium metal strips
The main alloying element of 5052 aluminium metal strips is magnesium, which has good forming and processing properties, corrosion resistance, weldability and medium strength. 5052 aluminium metal strips are used as raw materials for aircraft fuel tanks and oil pipes, sheet metal parts for transportation vehicles and ships, instruments and street lamp brackets, hardware and electrical enclosures etc.
5052 aluminium strips are of Al-Mg rust-proof aluminum. Compared with 3A21, 5052 has a higher strength, especially high fatigue strength. Similar to 3A21, it has high plasticity and corrosion resistance. It cannot be strengthened by heat treatment, and is suitable for contact welding and Hydrogen atom welding has good weldability, but there is a tendency of crystal cracking during argon arc welding.

Heat treatment specification of 5052 aluminium strips
1. Homogenization annealing: heating 440oC; holding 12 ~ 14 h; air cooling.
2. rapid annealing: heating 350 ~ 410oC; holding time 30 ~ 120min; empty or water cooled.
3. high temperature annealing: heating 350 ~ 420oC; finished product thickness ≥ 6mm or <6mm, holding time is 2 ~ 10min or 10 ~ 30min; air cooling.
4. low temperature annealing: heating 250 ~ 300oC or 150 ~ 180oC; holding time is 1 ~ 2h, air cooling.
