Kitchen utensils aluminum circle types and features
Kitchen utensils aluminum circle falls on 4 types in terms of alloy series: 1xxx, 3xxx, 5xxx and 8xxx. Each of them has its own properties and application features.
1xxx is represented by 1050 and 1100, characterized by good elongation, excellent tensile strength, low density, good corrosion resistance and cheap price. These are often of DC quality waters used in ordinary cookware like pots, simple strainers, pot lids, water tanks, washing basins etc. The process of 1xxx aluminum circle stocks are simpler and maturer than that of other series. As a result, the price of those circles are lower, too. They are the most largely consumed series of aluminum circles in the world, mainly exported to American and African countries.
3xxx aluminum circle, mainly 3003, has a higher strength and a better corrosion resistance than 1100 aluminum circle. It can be used for both deep drawing and spinning. Anodizing and color coating are suitable for the alloy, too. 3003 aluminum circle for kitchenware is mostly made into high pressure cookers, pizza plates etc.
5xxx aluminium circle contains 5005 and 5052, featured by excellent corrosion resistance and the strongest hardness of all. In addition to regular kitchen utensils mentioned above, they also serve as raw materials for higher-end products like cake molds. Of course, the quality of 5xxx kitchenware far surpasses that of other series.
8xxx performs like 1xxx and covers similar application scopes. The representative alloy is 8011, better known as an aluminium foil alloy.
In spite of overlapped application scopes, the kitchen utensil aluminum circles above have varied specifications and price. You need to check what specification you really need before making a decision.
